What is an Apprenticeship?

An Apprenticeship enables you to learn and gain a recognised qualification whilst earning money and gaining important work skills. You will receive your training in the workplace with support from your employer to help you develop the skills you require to succeed in your chosen industry. Unlike school, college or university you will receive 1 to 1 tuition from your Tutor within the workplace each month to enable you to work towards your nationally recognised Apprenticeship.

The length of your Apprenticeship is 1 year and 1 day for the Level 2 and 3, which will include the Standard for the chosen qualification, the End Point Assessment and Functional Skills for Maths and English. The Standard will teach and grade the Apprentices on their Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours in relation to their role within the business.

What Criteria do I need to be an Apprentice?

  • You need to have reached your 16th birthday by the last Friday in June of the academic year.

  • You cannot undertake another Apprenticeship whilst already on another Apprenticeship.

  • Have the right to work in England

  • Those with a degree will be eligible if they can show they are moving down a new career path.
